eMerge Americas & React Miami

Recap of eMerge Americas and React Miami Conferences + Luxury Cars.

Last Wednesday my wife and I hopped on the train down to Miami in preparation for me attending the eMerge Americas and React Miami conferences.

I have attended music / business conferences, but never a technology-specific conference until now.

eMerge Americas was held at the Miami Beach convention center and overlapped with React Miami on Friday. I spent the majority of my Thursday visiting booths on the conference room floor and learning more about what the vendors / organizations were sharing.

One of the most interesting booths for me was Code / Art. I have younger sisters, and friends with daughters that I feel should be exposed to coding at an earlier age. I believe that there are a lot of career opportunities for everyone that is equipped with the necessary skills.

Beyond this, I met with people on the conference floor and did some networking.

For Friday and Saturday, I spent most of my time at React Miami events. There were a lot of speakers to see and people to meet between the talks and workshops. There are still quite a bit of GitHub repositories for me to checkout and articles to read on some of the interesting information that was presented through the talks and workshops.

I had the opportunity to meet / speak with Will Johnson on Saturday. He amongst other professionals at the React Miami event were great to meet.

Outside of the conferences, I went to some good places to eat with my wife:
